My yoga teacher sent this out this morning. Can you identify? I don't ever feel drained and dejected, that's just not my nature, but I do feel like my to do list never ends and therefore a twinge of frustration at the realization that I will always, always have a long to do list!
So, here it is:
"........multitasking is a highly addictive behavior pattern because it's brimming with adrenaline and it makes you feel wanted and important... That's a lot of busyness, and busyness equates with importance, so you must really be someone special. But at the end of the day, you feel drained and dejected, and you don't know why....It's because you're not showing up in your life. Nobody's home- there's just a lot of activity.
"Real communication is incredibly powerful and transformative but it happens only when you show up completely in the activity- whether by talking on the cellphone, exchanging e-mail, or sitting across a table from someone. The vehicle for the communication is not the issue. It is your presence that makes the difference."
