Switzerland

Had a great trip - my speech went well at a small informal lunch at Zum Gruenen Glass. Went to the Zorten with Henriette for the night and hiked up to the Rothorn on Saturday. That was about 4+ hours up! It was so windy that the cablecar was closed so there weren't a lot of people up there. I took some great photos - well, at least until I lost my camera!

We stopped for a drink of water and I put my camera down on my right side, drank my water, had my biscuit and then packed up the backpack. About half an hour later I wanted to take another couple photos....and of course realized that I had never put my camera back.

Gone!

We ran into a biker that we had seen earlier as he was riding down. So, we asked him to look for it and bring it to the Mittel Station. I had high hopes that he'd find it and I'd have my camera back in a matter of hours.

When we were coming down - the camera wasn't there. I held onto my hopes.

But back at the Mittel Station - no one had returned a camera. We even asked at the Trottenet rental place (that's how we got down to the bottom). And we asked at the very bottom. Nothing. Filled in the forms etc and now must wait.

OK - am really upset about the camera - but am more upset about not having the photos....it's just killing me....and there are only about 20! I had already downloaded all the rest.

Henriette called the Polizei and they told her to wait out the week - sometimes it takes that long for these things to show up.

So, I'll wait....

But I must say, I really truly thought someone would pick it up and return it to the mountain somehow.

Has Switzerland changed?
